VICE-PRESIDENT: Networking, LEADERSHIP & MENTORING
Ruby Fulbright recently retired after ten years as Executive Director/Treasurer of the Woman's Missionary Union of North Carolina, the largest state WMU. She previously served as its president for three years. She and her husband, a retired pastor, live in Newton, NC. Her desire, she says, is to "empower women to understand their role in God's redemptive plan for the world."
When she and her family were SBC missionaries in Zambia for twelve years, she worked with women and MKs (missionary kids). In the last ten years she has traveled to Brazil, East Africa, South Africa, Alaska, Myanmar, Lebanon and Hawaii.
She practices the ministry of presence, listening because she values the time spent building relationships. "She is prayerful and full of encouragement for everyone who works with her," said one woman who recommended her for her new role with NABWU.
"Ruby is a gifted speaker, Bible study leader, facilitator, and leader. She works hard and knows how to draw out the strengths of her employees. Ruby radiates wisdom and warmth. She has a heart for reaching and mentoring younger women. She's also not afraid to have fun!"
