Moreen Sharp, NABWU's first president from Western Canada, has a home base in Pincher Creek, Alberta, just east of the Rocky Mountains. But because she and her husband are particularly gifted in transitional ministry, they move from place to place, helping churches work through issues that need to be addressed before they call a new pastor.
She brings this same gifting to her leadership of women's ministries. Her motto, "encouraging women to be all they can be in Christ," guided her presidency of Women in Focus (Canadian Baptists of Western Canada) as they explored what God was calling them to do. During this presidency (2008-2010) Moreen also served on the NABWU and Canadian Baptist Ministries boards. She has led teaching, music, and drama ministries in Japan, India, and Canada. Moreen is passionate about encouraging women to remember that God wants to work through each of us to make a different in the sphere and relationships he has placed us in. Her desire is to hear people in society say, "Baptist women! They are the ones making a difference in North America!" That is possible as we all do our part where we are. There are well over 4 million Baptist women in this collaboration! Shine right where you are! Together we ARE Stronger!
